The heavily wooded landscape of Northeast Wisconsin and Algoma’s ideal  shipping location on the shore of Lake Michigan made lumber and wood products a natural fit for the early European settlers in this area.  One of the first commercial sawmills was established in Algoma in 1852, and a variety of products (veneer, plywood, cabinets, doors, boats and even tiny house kits!) have been manufactured here over the years.  Though our prime shipping method is now flatbed trailers versus the ships and railcars of the past, our local pride in fine wood craftsmanship remains unfaltering.

The creation of the “new” Algoma Wood Products as a division of CTI Hospitality harkens back to the original company operating at this location, beginning in 1922.  Though many product lines have come and gone since then, milled lumber components remain a thriving piece of CTI’s overall business, deserving of its own name.  Technological advances in both machining and finishing have helped Algoma Wood Products grow into what it is today – proud manufacturer of high quality millwork, capable of small custom runs to truckload quantities.
